Rosemary Lemon Dish Liquid
I made up some dishwashing liquid this week. After spending some time with my collection of essential oils (What? They smell so good!), I decided on rosemary and lemon oils for this recipe.
Here’s what you’ll need:
Although you can use plastic, a glass bottle with pump dispenser is best. While you won’t be using a large amount of oils for this recipe, essential oils are quite strong and have been known to break down plastic over time.
Castile soap. I still had some Whole Naturals Castile Soap on hand, so I went ahead and used that for this recipe, but if you’re able to, I highly recommend using Dr. Bonner’s Pure Castile Soap. It has a gentler smell, and I love all that you can use it for.
Next up is your essential oils. Everybody has their own fave brands, but until I have the room and equipment to make my own (it’s in the plans), I’ll make do with Radha Beauty. I’ve used them for years and their oils smell amazing. Another company I love is Mountain Rose Herbs. They offer oils and loose herbs. In this recipe I’ll be using Lemon and Rosemary. If you don’t like these oils, or you have an allergy, you’re more than welcome to choose different ones. Orange and lemon are great to use in all things cleaning and refreshing your home.
That’s it! Just three simple ingredients and you’re good to go! Now remember, each size container may require different measurements. I’ll be basing this one on an 18 oz. container.

Mixing Directions:
1. Fill the clean soap dispenser with castile soap.
2. Add essential oils.
3. Close bottle and give a little shake.
4. Wait for bubbles to settle (optional), then fill rest of bottle with water.
5. Do a little dance!
Directions For Use:
1. Before each use, give the bottle a little shake (due to oils that may settle).
2. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of dish liquid to running warm water.
3. Wash as usual.
And as always, when completed, do a little dance!
Some Extra Insight…
1. Use can always add or subtract the amount of essential oils in your recipe at your own discretion.
2. When using any type of chemicals or oils, always be aware of any allergies or sensitivities you may have.
3. Never use whole essential oils on the skin without a carrier oil. Ever.
4. In this recipe I use Radha Beauty. Their oils are meant for topical, not internal use, so please be aware of this. It’s also stated on the bottle as well.
